frequently asked questions

Is this for real?

Yes, it is! It's as exciting for us to bring the magic of cinema to real people. What we do is allow you to relive the biggest moments of your life in the way that they deserve to be remembered. With respect and perspective.

How much do your films cost?

Most of the budgeting variables depend upon the size and type of the wedding. Each wedding film is customisable starting from INR 10L per day (approx. $10000). We take into consideration a lot of factors including your story, personality and how much of the wedding you want to remember. The cost also depends upon the size of crew and is inclusive of other talent. Added services such as a personalised soundtrack, 360 videos, aerial videography, on-site edits and any other special requirements would be an additional cost. Having said that, each wedding is unique and your films could cost a little less, or much more. Our approach to film-making and budgeting isn't quite as cut dry as a 'package' or 'fixed price'. So whether you're having a Bollywood style grand production or an intimate backyard wedding, we'd like to treat it with the poignancy and grandeur it deserves. Write to us and we'll do our best to make it work for you.

Do you offer same-day edits?

Although we do offer same-day edits, it is not something we recommend because a hurried edit may take away from the soul of a trailer. However if you wish to hire this service, you can have a look at some of our past work here:

Sheena & Jay - Uganda

Kanishk & Natasha - Bali

How big is your crew?

Our films are tailored to your wedding, and so is our crew. We have a great team of four and a fantastic team of twenty. We wouldn't compromise on production value so you can trust our instinct on how many people you would need.

Do you also do photography?

While we don't do wedding photoshoots, The Wedding Filmer has partnered with ‘Stories’ by Joseph Radhik for wedding photography. From sharing a similar creative wavelength to having an original approach to storytelling, there’s a lot that is in common between The Wedding Filmer and Stories. Working alongside Joseph Radhik’s team is creatively fulfilling for both sides because of their unobtrusive style of working and an emphasis on visual brilliance. Avail us together for your big day and get the absolute best captured to look back upon!

How long are your films?

The duration of the film is dependent on many factors including the structure of events at the wedding and the kind of memory you want. We have made wedding films that are anywhere between 15-90 minutes. To know more contact us.

How much in advance do I need to book you?

Considering how few weddings we confirm each year, its only fair we give every enquiry a fair chance to book our dates. Irrespective of how much or how less your film may cost, its a 'first come-first serve' world.

How soon will I get my film?

You could get a trailer on the very day of your wedding, or depending on how busy we've been... The feature film could take us between six to twelve months to create whereas the mini-series could take between to three to six months. But we've been told it's worth the wait!

Can you make me a memory like this even if I'm not getting married?

Being born, growing old, falling in love and even losing a loved one are epic moments for us all. Write to us and If we feel there is a story to be told, we would do our best to tell it.

Can we hire another videographer along with TWF?

We like to shoot very unobtrusively, without scripting, rehearsing or making you conscious of our presence and it's hard to do so when you have lights, and cameras all over you. We also insist on not more than two photographers. That way you'll get the best of both!

Do you guys travel?

Yes we do! All over the world in fact, but you'll have to get us there and give us a place to sleep! However if you keep checking our Facebook page, you'll be able to track us across the globe! We could be in your country when your big day is near!

Are the prices negotiable?

We try our best to fit you in our pricing packages, but making films is a difficult and expensive activity and we do not like compromising on our equipment or talent!
